There’s something about a good groove that makes the whole tune feel better.
Over five weeks, Emmanuelle will take you through the rhythm behind five Acadian tunes, one at a time. She breaks the patterns down into manageable pieces so you can hear where they sit in the music, try them yourself, and gradually get them feeling more natural.
You can explore the tunes through bodhrán, foot percussion, or spend some time with both.
Along the way, you’ll get a closer feel for the pulse and rhythmic patterns that give Acadian music its lift, energy, and unmistakable groove.

Everything You Need to Learn the Rythm
Emmanuelle breaks the rhythm for each tune into manageable pieces so you can hear what’s happening, try it yourself, and gradually feel how the patterns fit with the music.
Bodhrán
Work through the rhythms step by step and explore how the bodhrán can support the melody, add movement and energy, and sit comfortably inside the music without overpowering it.
Foot Percussion
Break the foot percussion patterns down piece by piece and work on connecting your feet to the pulse of the tune until the rhythm starts to feel more natural.

Emmanuelle LeBlanc is a singer, composer, musician, and Acadian creator whose work is deeply rooted in traditional music while always leaving room for creativity and exploration.
A founding member of the internationally acclaimed Acadian group Vishtèn, Emmanuelle has spent more than two decades performing and sharing Acadian traditional music at home and around the world.
Rhythm has always been at the heart of Emmanuelle’s music. In this course, she brings her relaxed, practical teaching style to both bodhrán and foot percussion, helping you understand the pulse, patterns, and groove that bring Acadian music to life.
